Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has rejected applications of 1,168 candidates who had applied for the Divisional Inspector (Technical) Examination-2020.The commission has uploaded the roll numbers of the affected candidates along with the reasons for the rejection of their applications on its official website.According to officials, the highest number of applications, 599 in all, were rejected because the candidates did not possess the mandatory qualifications required for the post. Another 441 applications were cancelled because the candidates failed to complete the online application process before the deadline.100 candidates submitted their online applications but failed to send hard copies of the application forms to the commission’s office within the stipulated deadline of March 3, 2022.The commission also cancelled the applications of 30 candidates after discrepancies were found in their experience certificates during the verification process conducted by the department concerned.UPPSC deputy secretary Rajesh Kumar said candidates who wish to challenge the decision may submit their appeal to the secretary of the commission either in person or through registered post by 5 pm on Aug 10. He added that applications received after the deadline would not be considered.
