Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has rejected the applications of 1,136 candidates for the Assistant Teacher (Trained Graduate Grade/LT Grade) Examination-2025 ahead of the main examination after finding that they failed to comply with the eligibility conditions and documentation requirements prescribed in the recruitment advertisement.The commission has, however, provided the affected candidates with a final opportunity to submit explanations or the required documents by the evening of July 6 before taking a final decision.The commission has released a detailed list of the rejected candidates along with the specific reasons for the rejection of each application. Candidates who believe their applications were rejected due to an error or who can furnish the required documents have been asked to submit their clarifications within the stipulated deadline.The highest number of rejections — 645 applications — pertains to candidates who claimed eligibility under the Outstanding Sportsperson category. According to the commission, these candidates either failed to submit valid sports certificates or did not furnish supporting documents in the prescribed format required to establish their claim. In addition, 278 more candidates were also disqualified for failing to provide mandatory documents related to the same category.The UPPSC also rejected the applications of 136 candidates who did not submit hard copies of their application forms and educational documents to the commission by the prescribed deadline. Meanwhile, 24 candidates were found ineligible because they did not possess the mandatory educational qualifications, including NCTE-recognised B.P.Ed. or B.P.E. degrees, as specified in the advertisement. Another 18 applications were cancelled after the commission found that the candidates did not fulfil the essential educational eligibility criteria.The notification further stated that several candidates claimed eligibility under specific benchmark disability categories but were unable to produce the prescribed certificates in support of their claims. In other cases, candidates provided incorrect information regarding their date of birth, attempted to change their category or sub-category after submitting the online application, or failed to submit the necessary certificates for the Dependents of Freedom Fighters (DFF) and other reservation categories.The commission also noted that some candidates themselves admitted through affidavits that they were not eligible under the categories they had claimed, leading to the cancellation of their applications. UPPSC has advised all affected candidates to carefully examine the reasons for rejection published on its website and submit the necessary clarification or documentary evidence by July 6 to ensure that their cases can be reconsidered before the final merit process for the LT Grade main examination proceeds.
