Lucknow: Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on Thursday visited the manufacturing plant of RailOne GmbH in Germany and signed an MoU to attract an investment worth Rs 200 crore in advanced railway infrastructure technology. “The MoU reflects UP’s push to bring global investment and modern technology for infrastructure expansion. It will enhance cooperation with the German firm in railway systems, focusing on improved quality standards, technology transfer and adoption of international best practices,” a govt spokesperson said. The investment is expected to support modernisation of rail networks in the state, introduce advanced track and concrete sleeper systems, and strengthen technical collaboration in high-performance rail components. Maurya said UP was ready for global partnerships in high-technology sectors.”The state is committed to transparent, industry-friendly policies and full administrative support from land allocation to operations,” he said. Discussions on a range of priority sectors, including medical devices, textiles, leather and footwear, semiconductors, defence, and IT/ITES were also held. The talks explored the expansion of Global Capability Centres and leveraging UP’s existing 660+ MW data centre capacity. Direct meetings in Germany, along with virtual interactions with UK investors, signalled a strong push in investment diplomacy. tnn
