COIMBATORE: The district mahila court will deliver the verdict in the Coimbatore college girl gang rape case on March 7.The gang rape happened on the intervening night of Nov 2 and 3, 2025. The college student was gang-raped by three men. They first assaulted her boyfriend while the duo were sitting in a stationary car. They then took her away to a deserted area near the city airport and gang-raped her.The Peelamedu police in city arrested T Karuppusamy alias Satheesh, 30, of Singampunari in Sivaganga district, his brother T Kaleeswaran alias Karthik, 21, and their relative M Guna alias Thavasi, 20, of Madurai district on charges of raping the woman. Police filed the chargesheet against the three men on Jan 8, 2026. The trial was completed in less than two months. Witness examination began on Feb 2, and 72 witnesses, including two victims, their family members, friends, police officers, CCTV experts and DNA experts, were examined. The court examined 111 govt exhibits. The prosecution arguments were heard on Feb 25, and the defence arguments were heard on Friday. After the arguments concluded, in-charge judge V Sundararaj announced that the verdict would be delivered on March 7.Special public prosecutor B Jisha represented the prosecution.
