Patna: Two youths were shot at in broad daylight near Shivaji Chowk under Ramakrishna Nagar police station in Patna on Sunday morning, triggering panic in the area despite heightened security on the occasion of Mahashivratri.According to police, two bike-borne assailants opened fire at Bittu Kumar and Pintu Kumar after both arrived in an SUV and halted at a roadside tea stall. Eyewitnesses said criminals fired multiple rounds, leaving both critically injured and causing chaos in the busy locality. Bystanders alerted the police and rushed the injured to a nearby private hospital, where both are stated to be in serious condition.

A police team soon reached the spot and secured the area. The forensic unit collected evidence and recovered a bullet shell from the spot. “An investigation is underway, and teams are examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras. The shooters, identified as Arman and Karu, opened fire over a personal dispute with the victims,” said Ranjan Kumar, Patna Sadar DSP-II.The DSP further said that police patrolling has been intensified in the vicinity as part of enhanced security measures. “Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused and establish the full circumstances behind the brazen attack,” he added.
