Hazaribag: Two minors drowned and another boy went missing while bathing in Tadgu river at Ghurandih village in Chatra district on Friday. The deceased were identified as Ansh Prakash, 15, and Prince Kumar, 14. The identity of the missing boy could not be immediately ascertained.Police said the three boys reached the riverbank on Friday morning for a picnic. They prepared and ate pasta before entering the river for a bath. The boys reportedly ventured into deep water and drowned.Residents later spotted a body floating in the river and alerted police. A police team reached the spot and recovered another body with the help of villagers.Two bicycles, three pairs of slippers, school bags and other articles were found on the riverbank. The recovery of three pairs of slippers has raised fears that the missing boy may have also drowned. However, police said they were yet to ascertain whether he drowned or fled the spot in panic after the incident.Sadar SDPO Sunny Vardhan said the two bodies were sent to Chatra Sadar Hospital for postmortem examination. Police are investigating how the children reached the location and the circumstances leading to the tragedy.Sadar police station officer in-charge Anil Oraon said a search was under way for the missing boy. “A probe has also been launched to establish the facts of the case,” he said.
