Kanpur: The police arrested the two accused in the murder case of a 20-year-old man in Jajmau on Wednesday. The two, to take revenge from the victim for harassing the sister of one of the accused, strangled him with a wire while the other repeatedly stabbed his neck. Both the accused have been sent to jail.Arbaaz Khan, 20, son of Riyaz, a tannery worker worked as a loader driver in Bajpai Nagar, Jajmau. His younger brother Salman said that Arbaaz left home after he got a call on Monday night. When he didn’t return, a search began. The next morning, locals found his body near the riverbank, about 100 meters from their home.DCP East Satyajit Gupta said that that the victim’s father filed a murder case against five people, including a father and son. The complaint stated that Shoaib, a neighbour, harassed their daughter in 2023, leading to a confrontation and a police case. Investigators followed this lead by questioning various people, including accused’s relatives.Shoaib’s questioning revealed that he wanted to take revenge from Arbaaz and planned the crime with his friend Sameer. Upon detention, Sameer confessed to the crime and told the police how Arbaaz troubled Shoiab’s sister. Shoaib’s previous attempt to harm Arbaaz resulted in his imprisonment after a video showed Arbaaz jumping into the river. Sameer revealed that they called Arbaaz to the riverbank late on Monday night and killed him. They even took photos with his body. The murder weapon was thrown in the river, said the DCP.
