Haveri: Ahead of the govt assembly scheduled on Feb 14 in the city, police altered some road routes to ensure smooth traffic movement and asked the public to cooperate and strictly follow the revised routes, said SP Yashoda Vantagodi.No private vehicles are allowed from Shibar Circle in Devagiri village to the cross near the Dundi Basaveshwara Temple via the Devagiri Yellapur route, she said, while speaking at a press conference on Wednesday.“Those travelling between Haveri and Devagiri should take the Karjagi route or use the bridge on Kaginele Road or Hanagal Road to reach the national highway and proceed towards Devagiri via Devihosur cross.“For the assembly’s security, 2 SPs, 6 ASPs, 21 DSPs, 72 CPIs, 162 PSIs, 220 ASIs, 1,790 HC-PCs, 500 HIs, 13 DARs, 12 KSRPs, 12 ASCs, and 3 QRTs were deployed to maintain law and order,” she added.“CCTV surveillance, a control room, and a command centre are set up at all parking locations designated for the assembly. Precautionary measures are taken to prevent any untoward incidents,” she said.
