Mangaluru: Mangaluru City police have issued a traffic advisory detailing potential congestion and route diversions ahead of the Sri Krishna Janmashtami ‘Mosarukudike’ celebrations scheduled across the city on Saturday.Anticipating heavy traffic from 5pm onwards, police urged the public to utilise alternative routes and strictly avoid parking vehicles along the procession paths. City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said that the restrictions have been imposed to avoid high congestion on city roads.Thokkottu Olapete MosarukudikeHeavy traffic is expected on NH-66 from Thokkottu Junction to Kolya Junction, and towards Ullal Abbakka Circle/Olapete. Vehicles traveling towards Talapady via Thokkottu Junction must take a left onto the service road at Thokkottu Junction, turn right at Deralakatte Junction, and proceed through Madyar–Madoor–Beeri Kotekar Junction. Vehicles traveling from Thokkottu Junction towards Ullal Abbakka Circle and Thokkottu Olapete should take the Beeri Kotekar–Someshwara route.Kadri Sri Gopalakrishna Mutt, Kadri Kambala Mosarukudike: Traffic congestion is likely on the stretch from Battagudde Junction to Kadri Kambala–Bharat Beedi headquarters. Vehicles moving from Battagudde towards Kadri Kambala should proceed via Bejai Junction–Pinto Bakery–Karangalpady. Vehicles moving from Bharat Beedi towards Battagudde should take the Mallikatte–Nanthoor route.Attavar Mosarukudike: Traffic is expected from Koti-Chennaya Circle to Babugudde–Attavar KMC Road–Ananda Shetty Circle. Vehicles traveling from Koti Chennaya Circle towards Attavar should proceed via Valencia. Vehicles travelling from Attavar towards Koti Chennaya Circle must take a left at Attavar Ananda Shetty Circle and proceed via SL Mathias Road–Highland Junction.Kottara Mosarukudike: Traffic congestion is anticipated between Kottara Chowki and Urwa Store Junction. Vehicles travelling from Lalbagh towards Kottara Chowki should proceed via KSRTC–Kuntikana. Light vehicles moving from Kottara Chowki towards Lalbagh should take the Kuntikana–Bejai–KSRTC route. Heavy vehicles moving from Kottara Chowki towards Lalbagh must proceed via the Kuntikana–KPT Circle route.Mangaluru City police commissioner has requested the public’s full cooperation with law enforcement and traffic management personnel during the diversions to ensure smooth and safe celebrations.
