Varanasi: A special prayer event was held at Kashi Vishwanath Temple on Monday. A group of 110 devotees from Tamil Nadu, namely ‘Ammachiayaramman Thiruvasagam Sampoorna Paath Prarthana Samooh’ (Complete Thiruvasagam Recitation Prayer Group), participated in the event, led by G Muthumadasamy.They recited the ancient Tamil scripture Thiruvasagam (658 hymns) in a continuous sequence. The sacred scripture was composed by the great saint Manikkavachagar and is considered a symbol of devotion to Lord Shiva. The recitation lasted over five hours. They later worshipped Lord Shiva.
