Patna: Patna Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic plan for Monday in view of the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ from JP Golambar to Kargil Chowk. With a large number of people expected to participate, several roads in central Patna will remain closed or diverted from 7am until the conclusion of the programme.According to the traffic advisory, general vehicle movement will be prohibited on Fraser Road between Dak Bungalow Chowk (Kaviraj Ravindra Chowk) and Gandhi Maidan via Children’s Park during the event. Vehicles will also not be allowed to enter SP Verma Road from New Dak Bungalow Road.Traffic movement from Kotwali T-Point towards the east will remain closed until the programme ends. Vehicles coming from Voltus More towards the north will be diverted through Vidyapati Marg and Budh Marg towards Police Line tri-junction. Similarly, vehicles coming from Chhajjubagh towards TN Banerjee Road and JP Golambar will not be allowed to proceed.Restrictions will also be imposed on the Budh Marg-Chhajjubagh-SDO residence route. On JP Ganga Path, only participants holding valid passes and travelling towards Gandhi Maidan through the designated stretch near AN Sinha Institute will be permitted.Private vehicles travelling on Fraser Road between Patna Junction and Dak Bungalow Chowk, as well as those travelling eastwards from Dak Bungalow Chowk towards Bhattacharya Chowk and Pir Muhani, will be diverted towards Nala Road. Vehicles entering Exhibition Road will be diverted back towards Bhattacharya Chowk from the designated cut near a mart.The Fraser Road stretch between Dak Bungalow Chowk and JP Golambar will remain reserved for the convoy of the chief minister and deputy chief ministers. Movement of all types of vehicles from JP Golambar through Ramgulam Chowk towards Kargil Chowk will also remain restricted during the programme.The traffic police has announced a separate diversion plan for goods and other commercial vehicles. From 7am until the programme ends, commercial vehicles will not be allowed through several major intersections.Traffic SP Sagar Kumar said, “No goods vehicles will be permitted through the area around Chirayatand Durga Mandir towards Goria Toli. Movement from Mithapur towards Buddha Marg and from R Block Golambar towards Income Tax Golambar will also be restricted. On Bailey Road, commercial vehicles will not be allowed between Dumra Chowki and Bhattacharya Chowk.”Commercial vehicles coming from Police Lines tri-junction will not be permitted to move towards Gandhi Maidan or Budh Marg and will instead be diverted westwards towards Ashok Rajpath.The traffic plan also provides diversions for autorickshaws, e-rickshaws and city buses. Autos travelling from Patna Junction towards Gandhi Maidan will follow the Patna Junction-Dak Bungalow Chowk-New Dak Bungalow Road route before being diverted through Exhibition Road and connecting roads.City buses and commercial vehicles operating from NIT-Patna will follow the Gandhi Chowk-Machhua Toli-Dariyapur Tiraha-Nala Road-Pir Muhani-CDO Building Golambar-Goria Toli-Patna Junction route and return through the same route.Commercial vehicles coming from Patna City towards Gandhi Maidan will be diverted via Musallahpur Haat and Barki Path towards Khajanchi Road. They will then join Ashok Rajpath and proceed towards Gaighat.Vehicles of people participating in the programme within the Gandhi Maidan area will be allowed entry through Gate No. 4 and parked at designated locations. For the general public, entry into Gandhi Maidan will be through Gate Nos. 1 and 13. Gate No. 12 will remain reserved for the entry of the chief minister.
