Srinagar, Aug 14: Tiranga rallies were held in Uri and Baramulla on Friday as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and ahead of Independence Day, with officials, police personnel, students, youth and local residents participating in the events.
In Uri, a Tiranga bike rally was organised from Kaman Post along the Line of Control to Uri market. The rally was led by SDM Uri Prince Kumar and aimed at promoting national unity, patriotism and pride in the Tricolour.
The rally was attended by the CISF Commandant, SDPO Uri, Captain BRO and other officers and officials. A large number of local youth also participated, carrying the national flag along the route.
The rally concluded at Uri market after passing through the Kaman Post-Uri route, with participants encouraging residents to display the Tricolour as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
Meanwhile, Baramulla Police, in collaboration with the District Administration, organised a mega Tiranga rally across Baramulla town.
The rally began at Dak Bungalow and culminated at Prof Showkat Ali Stadium, Government Degree College Baramulla. Police personnel, civil administration officials, students, government employees and residents from different sections of society participated.
The rally was led by DIG North Kashmir Range, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla and SSP Baramulla, along with other senior officers.
Participants carried the Tricolour and raised patriotic slogans. Officials said the event also aimed to strengthen police-public engagement and encourage community participation in Independence Day celebrations.
The organisers appealed to citizens to celebrate Independence Day with patriotism, responsibility, peace and harmony.
