Patna: An old rivalry between two groups in Saran district’s Pachdwa village turned deadly late Saturday night, leaving three young men dead and another seriously injured. Police said a preliminary investigation indicated a personal rivalry was behind the clash, which took place under Ekma police station.The victims were identified as Ramesh Yadav (35) and Mukesh Yadav (25), both of Pachdwa, and Ankur Patel alias Dhoni (22) of Kashi bazaar. Ankur had come to Pachdwa to visit relatives. The injured man, Vivek Kumar of Pachdwa, was referred to Patna for better treatment.An argument broke out among youths on the village’s main road on Saturday evening, but villagers intervened and pacified them. Later at night, the two groups allegedly confronted each other again and attacked one another with knives.Ankur suffered a knife wound to his chest and died at the spot. Other injured youths were taken to a private nursing home in Ekma, where the violence allegedly continued and two people sustained further injuries. The seriously injured were then shifted to Chhapra Sadar Hospital, where Ramesh and Mukesh died despite treatment.Ramesh had around five stab wounds, including injuries to his abdomen, back and arm, while Mukesh suffered a fatal chest wound.Ekma Sadar-2 SDPO Premchand Singh reached the scene and later visited Sadar Hospital with police personnel. He said two people from one side and one from the other side died in the incident.
