Patna: Road accident victims can avail cashless treatment of up to Rs 1.5 lakh at Ayushman Bharat-empanelled hospitals under the PM-RAHAT scheme with the govt bearing the cost for up to seven days from the date of the accident.The Patna district administration has asked hospitals and police officers to facilitate the process without delay, particularly during the crucial first few hours after an accident.According to a communique issued on Sunday, an accident victim must be admitted to a designated hospital within 24 hours to avail the facility. The hospital records the patient’s details on the online Transaction Management System, following which police verification and necessary approvals are completed.Patna DM Kundan Kumar said the golden hour after an accident is critical and timely medical intervention can save seriously injured victims. He directed officials to ensure victims are not denied or delayed treatment due to lack of awareness about the scheme.The administration has also been asked to publicise the scheme. Kundan appealed to the public to take injured persons to the nearest Ayushman Bharat-empanelled hospital without waiting for payment arrangements.
