Budgam, Sep 04: A terrorist was killed and an AK-series rifle along with other war-like stores was recovered during a joint search operation in the Ashdar Gali area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday.
The operation was launched jointly by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) following specific intelligence inputs, the Army’s Chinar Corps said in a post on X.
According to the Army, troops observed suspicious movement during the operation and, upon being challenged, the terrorists opened fire, triggering an exchange of gunfire.
“In the ensuing exchange, one terrorist was killed, while an AK rifle and other war-like stores were recovered from the site,” the Indian Army said.
An operation, codenamed Operation Ashdar, was successfully conducted by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF. During the operation, the joint forces successfully neutralised one terrorist within a short period of time.
The search operation was still underway at the time of filing this report, with security forces continuing searches in the area.
