Hyderabad: A 17-year-old youth was allegedly stabbed to death in Kalapathar after a drunken argument with three others, Kalapathar police said on Sunday. According to Kalapathar Inspector Mohd Khaleel Pasha, the victim, who had an ongoing dispute with the accused, confronted the trio as they were climbing the steps towards their old locality after parking their vehicle at the foothill, as the narrow lanes were inaccessible to vehicles.One of the accused, Abrar (21), had lived in the locality until two to three years ago before shifting to Balapur. He had returned to meet his old friends, accompanied by Farhan (21) and Ashwaq (21). Police said the victim questioned the group about why they had returned to the locality, which led to an argument. During the altercation, Farhan allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the teenager in the head, leading to his death on the spot.Police said the three accused had allegedly been consuming alcohol together until the early hours of Sunday before heading to the locality. Police also said Farhan has a previous chain-snatching case registered against him, while Abrar has a rowdy-sheet opened against him at Balapur police station. All three accused are absconding, and special police teams have been formed to trace and arrest them. Police said the victim was an intermediate dropout and was familiar with the accused, as they all belonged to the same locality. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
