Vadodara: A 16-year-old boy drowned in a canal at Sevasi on the city outskirts on Wednesday, with his body recovered nearly two days later after an extensive search.The victim, Harshvardhan Kshatri, had gone to the canal with a friend. After having snacks, he reportedly entered the water to wash his hands but slipped and was pulled in by the strong current.His friend raised an alarm, but the teenager disappeared before help could arrive.The fire brigade launched a search operation soon after being alerted and deployed boats, but initial efforts failed to trace him. The search resumed later, and his body was eventually found about 4km from the spot where he went missing.Kshatri, a Class 11 student and aspiring football player, was a resident of the Vadsar area.
