Times News NetworkKanpur: The team of food security & drug administration on Saturday raided Hatia Khoya Mandi, Express and Fazalganj Khoya Mandi and collected as many as 19 samples. The team seized around 450 kg of contaminated and foul-smelling khoya kept for sale at Hatiya Khoya Mandi and got it destroyed.According to Sanjay Pratap Singh, assistant commissioner (food), the department launched a campaign and checked Khoya Mandi of the city in a bid to provide edible khoya (mawa) to sweet makers.The food safety department has issued instructions to step up surveillance in view of the rising demand for mawa and sweets during the festive season. The samples have been sent for laboratory testing. The campaign will continue throughout the festive period.
