Dharwad: Chairman of Karnataka legislative council Basavaraj Horatti, emphasised the need to teach children the true history of our land to enable them to be proud of it. Speaking after releasing the book ‘Naragunda Babasahebara Gallu Nantarada Atankada Baduku’ authored by journalist Manoj Patil at the Karnataka Vidyavardhaka Sangha auditorium on Sunday, Horatti said, “We are neglecting our history. Those who do not know history cannot make history. We must teach our glorious past to our children; otherwise, future generations will remain unaware of it.” He added that merely making children engineers and doctors is not enough—they must be imparted with cultural values and historical awareness. Horatti praised journalist and writer Manoj Patil for authoring an excellent book, stating that Patil had travelled across the country, conducted extensive research, met with family members of Babasaheb, and compiled the book with great effort.
