Pic: A full-scale emergency mock drill was conducted at Hubballi Airport on Monday in the wake of the recent plane crash tragedy in AhmedabadHubballi: Following a threat mail received on Sunday evening, security measures were tightened at Hubballi airport. Airport director Rupesh Kumar Sripad told TOI that the sender sent mail to 30 airports in the country. “In a mail sent to us, he marked 18 airports of the nation. We immediately convened a meeting of the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee and filed a form to apprise higher authorities in Delhi. We checked all corners of the airport and found nothing. We have identified secondary ladder points to enhance checks. Security agencies like the bomb detection and disposal squad, Karnataka State Industrial Security Force, dog squad, and local police have kept a vigil on the movement of each person in the airport premises of 50-60 acres,” he explained.He also said that a complaint was lodged with Gokul Road police station.He further mentioned that a full-scale mock drill was conducted to test disaster preparedness, in the wake of a plane crash in Ahmedabad. “A dummy aircraft crashed, and relief teams and healthcare personnel acted swiftly to handle the situation. Forces explained the situation to the deputy commissioner Divya Prabhu GRJ, who was present on the spot,” he stated.
