The Taki Municipality has issued demolition notices to two multi-storey guest houses, Taki City Guest House and Disha Riverside Hotel, built illegally on the banks of the Ichhamati, directing the facilities to complying with a directive from the Calcutta High Court. The civic body has set July 1 as the deadline for demolition. The HC has directed the municipality to submit a status report before the next hearing slated for July 16.
