Prayagraj: A vegetable vendor has been arrested for allegedly murdering his 20-year-old son in Chaat Wali Gali under the Kareli police station limits over suspicion of an incestuous relationship with his mother. Police said the accused suspected his wife of infidelity and believed his son was involved with her.Police said the accused, 45-year-old Dinesh Chandra Jaiswal alias Pappu, attacked Priyanshu with a juicer handle late Friday while the family slept on the rooftop after dinner.Alerted by screams, Priyanshu’s mother and two younger brothers rushed downstairs to find him in a pool of blood. The accused was standing nearby holding the blood-stained object. The accused later fled after threatening family members.Police said the accused, an alcoholic, had long suspected his wife’s character and often accused her of illicit relations. On the night of the incident, the couple allegedly argued over the same issue.After being alerted, DCP City and other senior officers reached the spot with local police and forensic teams to inspect the scene.DCP (City) Manish Kumar Shandilya said: “It has been reported that the accused had a suspicion that his son had an illicit relation with mother because of which he killed him.”An FIR has been registered on a written complaint and further legal action is underway.
