Jaisalmer: Balotra SP Ramesh Saturday dismissed the rumours linking the suspension of Pachpadra SHO Achalaram Dhaka to the recent refinery fire, saying the action was taken over a VVIP security lapse.Police said the social media posts were misleading and aimed at creating confusion, warning of strict legal action against those spreading false information. The SP said the SHO was suspended for alleged negligence and breach of VVIP security protocol during preparations for the Prime Minister’s proposed visit. Despite security arrangements, unauthorised individuals reportedly climbed onto the stage, delivered speeches and circulated videos online, constituting a serious violation of security norms. He added that attempts were being made to falsely link the suspension to the refinery fire and even give it a caste angle, which he said was baseless and could disturb public order.A departmental inquiry has been initiated to fix accountability, and the SHO was suspended to ensure a fair probe, the SP said.Police have also registered a case at Pachpadra police station against those who entered the stage without authorisation. Separately, a case was filed at Jasol police station against individuals accused of circulating misleading content about the refinery fire. The SP urged people not to believe or share unverified posts and said cyber monitoring was underway. Strict action will be taken against those found spreading rumours, he added.
