Hyderabad: Union minister of state for home affairs, Bandi Sanjay on Sunday called on all parties that advocate for women’s empowerment to unite in supporting the women’s quota bill in Parliament. He highlighted that granting political reservations for women has been a long-cherished dream. He characterized the introduction of 33% reservations through the Women’s Reservation Bill as a landmark decision. Emphasizing the need for unity beyond political affiliations, he declared that the bill embodies the hopes and aspirations of women across the country. He stressed the importance of boosting female representation in Parliament, noting that with delimitation, the number of parliamentary seats would rise. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also reached out to party leaders, seeking their backing for the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill. He underscored that the moment has arrived to enforce the law in its fullest sense, transcending individual and party interests.
