Mandya: The 2025-26 state-level inter-electricity company sports meet, organised by the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) Sports Institute and Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), began on Wednesday. The two-day event was inaugurated by MLA and CESC chairman AB Ramesh Bandisiddegowda at PET Engineering College Grounds in Mandya.Speaking at the inauguration, Ramesh acknowledged the round-the-clock efforts of the electricity company staff, and emphasised that such sports events offer essential recreation while helping reduce work-related stress. He encouraged all athletes to maintain a healthy competition.Over a hundred athletes from CESC, BESCOM, MESCOM, HESCOM and GESCOM, are taking part in competitions like kabaddi, volleyball, basketball, ball badminton and table tennis.National-level achievers Nishitha and Nandeesh (badminton) and Karthik (kabaddi) were felicitated for their achievements. Several senior officials including CESC managing director KM Munigopala Raju, chief engineer and CESC sports committee president AA Sunil Kumar, and chief financial officer G Renukaothers were present.
