Prayagraj: In a major reform aimed at improving transparency and ensuring optimal utilization of vacancies, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has introduced a new ‘sliding mechanism’ starting with the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2025.“Under this system, candidates will first receive tentative post or department allocations through the First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA), based on their merit and preferences. They must then complete an Identity Verification (IV) process within a stipulated time, which includes Aadhaar-based authentication, biometric verification, and live photo capture,” said SSC regional director (central region), Ashish Kumar Srivastava.During verification, candidates are required to select either the ‘Fix’ or ‘Float’ options. Choosing ‘Fix’ confirms the current allocation as final, while selecting ‘Float’ keeps the candidate eligible for upgradation to higher-preference posts if vacancies arise later. The mechanism has been implemented across all nine SSC zones.Initially, candidates are given a temporary post based on their rank and preferences. The commission will conduct only one sliding round. Vacancies generated due to candidates’ absence during verification will be reallocated among those who opted for ‘Float,’ based on merit and preferences. The final result issued after this process will be binding on both candidates and departments, said the regional director.Candidates must book their identity verification slots through the official SSC website by selecting their preferred city/state, date and shift. Once booked, the slot will be final and cannot be changed. Candidates who fail to appear at the scheduled time risk cancellation of their candidature. For verification, candidates must carry their original Aadhaar card, a printed copy of the slot booking and the registered mobile number for OTP-based authentication. In the Central Region, the sliding process will begin on April 13 at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Jhalwa.15,118 clear CGL Examination 2025SSC declared the results of the CGL Examination 2025 on Wednesday, with a total of 15,118 candidates qualifying for various Group B and Group C posts in Central Government ministries and departments.Of these, 6,458 belong to the unreserved category, 3,832 to OBC, 2,221 to SC, 1,132 to ST and 1,475 to EWS categories.
