Prayagraj: A 35-year-old second-year PG resident in the department of surgery at Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital died under mysterious circumstances on Sunday night, police said.DCP (city) Maneesh Shandilya told TOI that Dr Aditya was a resident of Allahapur in the city itself but residing at a rented flat for his studies in Georgetown. “On Sunday night, Dr Aditya went to visit a friend in Georgetown where he apparently collapsed in the washroom. His friends rushed him to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, where he breathed his last during the treatment,” he said. The body was sent for postmortem, but the autopsy report failed to ascertain the cause of death and the viscera has been preserved for further analysis, he said. However, police said they will probe the incident thoroughly. The incident led to a commotion among the medical fraternity on Monday.
