Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has declared the results of the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Examination 2023,after over two years of delays caused by a major paper leak. Out of 419 selected candidates, 81 are women making up 19% of the total selections. In the RO (Secretariat) category, out of 322 vacancies, Anil Pandey secured the top position, followed by Aditya Pratap Singh, while Laxmi Verma emerged as the highest-ranking woman candidate. In RO (UPPSC), Bhanu Mishra claimed the first rank, and in RO (Revenue Council), Digvijay Singh secured the top position. For ARO (Secretariat), out of 40 vacancies, Shamsul Huda, Ashish Kumar Dwivedi and Anupam Kumar Upadhyay occupied the first three ranks, respectively. In RO (Revenue Council), Kunwar Shivam Singh topped, while Ganesh Tripathi was first in ARO (UPPSC). In ARO (Accounts), Sajal Kumar Singh secured the top spot. The recruitment process began on Oct 9, 2023. The preliminary examination held on Feb 11, 2024, witnessed a widespread paper leak, with answer keys being circulated on social media the same day. Protests broke out at several centres. In response, the commission recommended an STF investigation on Feb 12, 2024, and constituted a three-member internal committee to probe the allegations. Following the probe, the chief minister’s office issued directives for a thorough review of the recruitment process. The examination was cancelled on March 2, 2024, and the commission subsequently reconducted it with strict measures. This included implementing the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, ensuring that preliminary exams for RO/ARO 2023 and PCS 2024 were held in a single day instead of multiple days, addressing earlier candidate concerns about staggered exam schedules. UPPSC secretary Ashok Kumar confirmed that all 419 vacancies, initially advertised as 411 but later revised, have been provisionally filled. The results are available on the official UPPSC website. Marks obtained by candidates and category-wise cut-offs will be released shortly.
