Mandya: In a major breakthrough, Srirangapatna Rural police arrested six people in connection with the brutal murder of Mohammad Javad Alam alias Sahil, a Bengaluru-based history-sheeter. The murder took place recently on farmland near Brahmapura village, Srirangapatna taluk.Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s relative, Muzammil, a case was registered under various sections of the BNS, 2023.Acting under the guidance of Mandya SP VJ Shobharani, a special team was formed to trace the accused. The police successfully tracked down and arrested the suspects near Naguvinahalli underpass. “The arrested individuals were identified as Mohammad Afrar, Mohammad Ahmed Khan, Mujahid Pasha, Syed Mudassir, Yaseen Sharif and Mohammad Azhar, all residents of Mysuru and aged between 27 and 38 years,” police said.According to police investigations, the murder was the result of long-standing rivalry and financial disputes. Police said Mohammad Afrar allegedly orchestrated the crime and financially supported the other accused to carry out the murder using deadly weapons. During the operation, police also seized motorcycles and mobile phones believed to have been used in the commission of the crime, SP VJ Shobharani said.
