Mandya: In a crackdown on illegal narcotics trade, Pandavapura police arrested three people on the charges of involvement in ganja trafficking and seized contrabands worth nearly Rs 10 lakh along with a four-wheeler, allegedly used for transportation.Police said that they received credible information about individuals attempting to sell ganja near Kuntibetta in Pandavapura taluk. Acting under the directions of Mandya SP VJ Shobharani, a special team led by Pandavapura police inspector HP Sharath Kumar raided the spot.During the operation, the police seized 20.6kg of dry ganja valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh and detained the suspects. Investigation revealed that the accused allegedly procured the ganja from Kesinga in Odisha and transported it to Pandavapura for illegal sale at higher prices. Police arrested Shreyas Gowda, 20, Shashikumar, 34, and Vinoda alias Madhu, 41, all residents of Pandavapura. They were produced before court, which remanded them to judicial custody. Three others are absconding.
