Jaipur: Sriganganagar police are preparing to file an early chargesheet in the kidnapping, rape and sexual exploitation of a 13-year-old girl after arresting 21 of the 24 accused named in the FIR. Police said three more suspects are yet to be arrested, and the chargesheet will be filed soon after their detention.Superintendent of Police Hari Prasad told TOI that 15 of the arrested accused have been booked for rape and sexual exploitation. He said police are also moving the case under the Case Officer Scheme to ensure speedy trial and conviction. A designated officer will monitor day-to-day court proceedings, coordinate with the public prosecutor, and keep the prosecution updated with the investigation. Police said they will seek maximum punishment, including capital punishment, for the accused.The probe has also widened to action against misinformation. Police have suspended over 80 social media accounts for spreading fake news, including false claims about the victim’s death. A separate FIR has been registered under relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act, and those responsible for circulating rumours will be arrested, police said.The case surfaced after the girl’s mother reported her missing on June 22, saying the child had disappeared while she was at work.
