Kanpur: A 19-year-old youth died after being hit by a speeding vehicle in Shahjahanpur under the Satti police station area of Kanpur Dehat.The deceased was identified as Ashish Pal, a resident of Kathri village.According to police, Ashish was on his way to a computer café when an unidentified car allegedly rammed into him.Eyewitnesses said the impact was so severe that Ashish was thrown into the air and died on the spot. The driver fled the scene after the accident.Following the incident, the deceased’s family members staged a protest outside the Satti police station, demanding action against the errant driver.Police assured them that strict action would be taken and efforts were underway to trace the vehicle and arrest the driver.Satti station in-charge Kalicharan Kushwaha said the body was sent for postmortem and further action will be taken based on the family’s complaint.
