Kanpur: A sub-inspector allegedly slapped and dragged a sweet shop owner in Kanpur after the latter allegedly refused to pay money to close an Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) complaint, police said on Thursday.The complainant, Manoj Dixit, has submitted a complaint against the SI at Kakadev police station.In the complaint, Dixit alleged that Sarvoday Nagar outpost in-charge Dalchandra Rajput arrived at his shop near Geeta Nagar Crossing with two constables at around 12.30 pm on Wednesday.According to Dixit, the officer enquired about his father and informed him that a complaint had been received. He alleged that Rajput behaved rudely and demanded money to close the complaint. When he objected, the SI allegedly slapped him several times, grabbed him by the collar and forcibly tried to take him to the police station.According to the complaint, local residents gathered at the spot and began protesting, following which the officer and the two constables left the area.DCP (Central) Atul Kumar Srivastava said a complaint against the shopkeeper had been lodged on the IGRS portal and the outpost in-charge had visited the shop to investigate the matter.He said the incident had come to light and ACP Colonelganj Akanksha Pandey had been assigned to probe the allegations. Further action will be taken on the basis of the inquiry report, he added.
