Jaipur: The RD Baheti Memorial Jaipur District Open Badminton Championship 2026 witnessed a special and emotional moment on Saturday when senior players over the age of 70 were given a grand welcome and honour.Chief guests Pradeep Baheti, Rajeev Nagori, Jaipur District Badminton Association secretary Manoj Dasot, and Jagdish Khatri felicitated the senior players and presented them with mementos. Competition fees were also waived for all senior players.All the senior players were emotional and overwhelmed by such a special gesture from the organisers.Chief guest Pradeep Baheti also led all the senior players in performing comedy yoga and asanas, which filled the entire stadium with excitement and joy.In the final of the Under-11 boys singles category, top seed Rakshit Rewar performed brilliantly and won the title by defeating Mehul 15-8, 15-7.However, Mehul triumphed in the U-11 boys doubles with his partner Himaksh. The pair of Mehul-Himaksh outclassed Daksh Saini and Lakshya Sharma 15-6, 15-3 to emerge champions.In the Under-19 girls’ doubles semifinals, Advita and Garima thrashed Aishwarya and Kanishka 21-11, 21-12 to move into the final. In the other semifinal, Ojaswita Dubey and Pearl Parikh got the better of Ada Verma and Himanshi Saini 21-18, 21-16.In the Under-19 girls singles category, Garima Yadav, Advita Sharma, Aaradhya Dhingra and Miraya Fageria displayed an excellent performance and secured a place in the semi-finals.Apart from this, the pair of Bhanu Pratap and Sneh Lamba and the Ansh-Shreyati duo have entered the final of Under-19 mixed doubles.
