CM Samrat Choudhary hands over a cheque to his deputy Vijay Kumar Choudhary in Patna on Saturday

Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Saturday announced he would donate one month’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for flood-affected families in Bihar. He also received cheques equivalent to one month’s salary from several ministers, MPs and MLAs.“As CM, I am contributing my one month’s salary to the relief fund to assist the flood-affected families in Bihar,” Choudhary said in a social media post.Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Choudhary and road construction minister Kumar Shailendra also handed over cheques for one month’s salary each.A day earlier, BJP’s Nitin Nabin announced a Rs 6.35 lakh donation, equivalent to three months’ salary as a Rajya Sabha member. The Bihar BJP also contributed Rs 51 lakh to the fund. State BJP president Sanjay Saraogi said all BJP MPs, MLAs and MLCs from Bihar would donate one month’s salary for relief and rehabilitation.
