Patna: The Sports Authority of India (SAI), Patna, organised Fit India Carnival 2026 on Sunday to promote fitness and sports among citizens.During the programme, athletes performed demonstrations in taekwondo, wushu, and yoga. Various sports associations also held demonstrations on roads to increase the visibility of physical activities.Bihar sports minister Shreyasi Singh attended the event as the chief guest alongside director of census M Ramachandrudu; Bihar Olympic Association president Ajay Kumar, and Rakesh Acharya. The event began with a zumba session.“Fit India is not merely a campaign but a people’s movement towards building a healthy and strong nation,” Singh said. “We must make sports and physical activity an integral part of our daily lives and develop a culture of fitness. Such initiatives play an important role in spreading awareness about fitness, inspiring young people to take up sports,” she added.Singh urged people to include fitness activities in their daily routines to maintain health. The minister visited stalls of mallakhamb, gymnastics, atya-patya, skating, basketball, taekwondo, wushu, sepak takraw, yogasana, zumba, and mini gym.During the visit, Singh interacted with athletes and participants before the conclusion of the event.
