Prayagraj: A ‘Run for Yoga and Cleanliness’ rally (walkathon) was organized on Friday in the Sangam city under the joint aegis of the AYUSH Department, the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation, and the district administration with the aim of raising public awareness about yoga and cleanliness.The rally was flagged off by the Mayor Umesh Chandra Ganesh Kesarwani. The walkathon commenced at gate no one of Chandrashekhar Azad Park and concluded at the Hanumat Niketan Temple in Civil Lines.While flagging off the rally, Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani raised awareness about the importance of yoga. He said that it’s the collective responsibility of people to take the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding Ayurveda, yoga, and cleanliness—to every citizen. Both yoga and cleanliness are essential for building a healthy society.To inspire public to adopt yoga and cleanliness and to follow a healthy lifestyle, a street play was also staged. All attendees took pledge to practice yoga regularly in their daily lives and to keep their neighborhoods clean.
