Rohtak: Rohtak’s rising badminton star Unnati Hooda clinched the women’s singles title at the Polish Open 2026, marking a strong comeback on the international circuit.Top-seed Unnati recovered from a game down to defeat Ukraine’s Polina Buhrova 10-21, 21-15, 21-8 in the final, securing her second BWF International Challenge title.Her father, Upkar Hooda, who is accompanying her in Poland, said the win was significant as she was returning from an injury layoff. “This victory is important and marks a strong comeback for her,” he said.Hailing from Rohtak, Unnati has steadily risen through the ranks with consistent performances. Known for her court coverage and attacking game, she is considered among India’s most promising young shuttlers.She had earlier grabbed attention with a medal at the Asian Junior Championships and also became one of the youngest Indians to win a BWF Super 100 title at the Odisha Open. She has also secured multiple national titles.
