Tiranga Yatra organised by BJP in Puttur on Friday.

Mangaluru:Calling upon people to fight corruption in Karnataka, BJP MLC CT Ravi said the Narendra Modi-led central govt has not faced a single allegation of corruption in the last 12 years.Addressing a Tiranga Yatra gathering in Puttur Friday, Ravi ridiculed chief minister DK Shivakumar’s statement asking citizens not to pay even Rs 10 as a bribe in any govt office.“Recently, our chief minister said that no one should give a ten-rupee bribe. Two senior leaders spoke over the phone about how a minister’s post was obtained. No one cares about ten rupees. If there are tens of crores or hundreds of crores, a ministerial position can be acquired — this is what a senior Congress leader stated in their phone conversation about how things are,” said Ravi.Calling upon people to fight terrorism, Ravi said terrorists have become emboldened and are acting with increasing audacity.“They have become active, that is true. Have they been eliminated? No. They keep trying to rear their heads time and again, and every time they do, efforts are made to crush them. But terrorists will not stop merely because their tails are cut off. If they continue to rear their heads repeatedly, what should be cut then? The heads of terrorists must be cut off,” said Ravi.Lashing out at people who hesitate to sing ‘Vande Mataram’, the MLC said that even after the partition of India, the mindset that seeks to divide India remains alive.Referring to the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), Ravi said all the govt asked for was accountability.“If you bring in funds for a hospital, spend it on the hospital. If for a school, spend it on the school. If it’s an old age home, spend it there. Should we allow funds brought in the name of an old age home to create anarchy? Should we allow Naxals to be groomed under the guise of school education? When people panic over simply being asked for financial accounts, it reveals that funds were being misused,” he said.Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta, MLAs Bhagirathi Murulya, Y Bharath Shetty, Harish Poonja and Vedavyasa Kamath, MLC Kishore Kumar, and others were present.
