Kanpur: The body of a 30-year-old man accused in a rape case was found hanging outside a village in the Rasoolabad police station area of Kanpur Dehat on Friday morning, police said.The deceased was identified as Arvind Singh alias Nanhen. Police said his body was found hanging from a noose made of his own gamchha (scarf).Villagers spotted the body and alerted his family members and the police.According to police records, a 19-year-old woman from the same village had submitted a written complaint at Rasoolabad police station on Wednesday, alleging that Arvind raped and impregnated her.Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR against Arvind and carried out raids to arrest him, but he could not be traced. His body was recovered on Friday.Rasoolabad SHO SN Singh, along with a forensic team, reached the spot and collected evidence. The body was sent for postmortem.Arvind’s family alleged that he was murdered and demanded a thorough probe.
