Jaipur: In a bid to strengthen export infrastructure, Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation Ltd (Rajsico) has established a modern air cargo facility at the Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Jaipur under the Centre’s Trade Infrastructure for Export Scheme (TIES). A senior official of the industries dept said the newly developed facility is envisioned as an extension of the existing air cargo complex and is aimed at enhancing logistics efficiency, reducing turnaround time and improving export competitiveness, particularly for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). He said that the facility will play a key role in integrating Rajasthan’s MSMEs into global value chains by providing access to world-class infrastructure and seamless logistics services. It is equipped to handle between 8,000 and 10,000 export-import parcels per day, significantly improving cargo processing capacity. Among its key features is a 100-metric-tonne cold storage unit designed to support export of perishable goods, ensuring temperature-controlled storage. The complex also includes advanced cargo handling systems, such as conveyorised sorting, scanning mechanisms and a warehouse management system with QR-based tracking for end-to-end traceability. “An integrated e-commerce facilitation centre has also been set up to help MSMEs access global platforms like Amazon, eBay and Alibaba, enabling packaging, labelling and dispatch support for international shipments,” the official said. The facility incorporates an Export Cargo Clearance System (ECCS) to streamline customs processes. A Dak Niryat Kendra is also being developed in collaboration with India Post to simplify export procedures.
