Jaipur: In a sweeping 15-day crackdown against narcotics, police in seven districts under Jaipur range arrested 226 persons and seized drugs worth nearly Rs 2 crore under a special operation called “Anti-Venom”.Inspector General of Police (Jaipur Range) Rahul Prakash said the operation, carried out between March 15 and March 31 in Jaipur Rural, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Alwar, Kotputli-Behror, Dausa and Khairthal-Bhiwadi districts, targeted drug peddlers, users, and illegal cultivators, with coordinated action across districts monitored at the range level.Prakash said here at a presser Wednesday that police registered 229 cases during the drive, with seizures ranging from synthetic drugs to cannabis and opium derivatives.Among the major recoveries were 25.404 grams of MD drugs, 781.50 grams of smack, 88.827 kg of ganja, 15.516 kg of doda post, 10.811 kg of doda choora and 79.12 grams of opium. Teams also seized 6,109 cannabis plants, along with 18,849 Tramadol capsules and tablets and 4,093 bottles of illicit syrup.“This operation was aimed at striking at the very root of drug cartels,” Prakash said.
