Jaipur: Anuya Prasad brought laurels to the region by winning the gold medal in the third National Deaf Shooting Championship being held in Mohali, Punjab on Saturday.The Jaipur shooter logged 233.6 points to clinch yellow metal in the 10m air pistol event. Pranjali (225.8 points) and Darshana (206.1 points), both representing Maharashtra, finished second and third respectively.Nineteen-year-old Anuya is a third year Visual Arts student at Rajasthan University. The other Rajasthan shooter in the finals, Vedika Sharma, had to be satisfied with the eighth spot.The Deaf Shooting Nationals is being held from March 12 to 15. The event, organised by the Punjab State Sports Council under the auspices of National Rifle Association of India, showcases athletes in various categories including 10m air rifle and pistol.
