Jaipur: Health department has declared eight drugs as substandard after they failed quality tests conducted between Feb 16 and 28, officials said Saturday. They said the drugs were for common ailments such as cough, fever, pain, anxiety and wound care.A health department official said details of the failed samples have been shared with the Drug Controller General of India and drug controllers of all states. Authorities have been asked to withdraw available stock from the market and initiate action under Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.The drugs that failed quality tests were manufactured by Parth Formulation Pvt. Ltd, Gegal; Cipco Limited, Indore; Astonea Labs Ltd, Panchkula, Haryana; Ethicare Laboratories, Jammu; Jineka Healthcare, Ranipur, Haridwar; and Vivek Pharmachem India Ltd, Amer, Jaipur. tnn
