Varanasi: Rajan Srivastava, presently serving as joint registrar (administration) at the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), has been appointed as the registrar of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Jais, Amethi. He will assume charge of his new responsibilities on March 9.Srivastava served as the officiating registrar of IIT-BHU for over four-and-a-half years. He began his professional career in 1996 as assistant registrar at Banaras Hindu University. In 2009, he was promoted to the post of deputy registrar at BHU. Subsequently, in 2012, he joined IIT-BHU as deputy registrar and was elevated to the position of joint registrar in 2014. Since then, he oversaw several key administrative and financial functions. Earlier, Srivastava was also appointed as Registrar of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior; however, he did not join the post at that time.
