Shimla: President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Himachal Pradesh from April 27 to May 2, attending official and ceremonial events across Shimla, Palampur and Manali.The President is scheduled to inspect the strategically important Atal Tunnel connecting Manali to Lahaul and Spiti Valley on April 29. On April 30, the President will attend the convocation ceremony of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya in Palampur of Kangra district as chief guest and award degrees and medals to meritorious students. She is also scheduled to visit the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) in Shimla to review training activities. During her stay, the President will reside at ‘The Retreat’ in Chharabra near Shimla, where an “At Home” reception is also planned. Security agencies and the administration have stepped up preparations across all venues. Her last-year visit to Shimla was postponed due to ‘Operation Sindoor’.
