Hisar: To ease public grievances, the police have made it mandatory to resolve all complaints within three days. The directive, issued by additional director general of police (ADGP) K K Rao during a range-level crime review meeting, seeks to ensure citizens are not forced to make repeated visits to police stations.Officials have been directed to accord priority to complaints received at police offices, stations, or through other channels and ensure close monitoring. To prevent misuse of the system, strict legal action will be taken against those who repeatedly file false complaints.Emphasising greater accountability and public-friendly policing, the officers were instructed to ensure better behaviour of police personnel with citizens, improving trust and interaction at the ground level.Other key public-oriented decisions included encouraging youths to do good work at village and ward levels, increasing police visibility on the ground, and reducing response time of emergency units like ERV and PCR.
