T’puram: A Pocso case was filed against former DGP and present BJP councillor R Sreelekha for revealing the names and other details of rape victims, including minors, through her YouTube channel.The Thiruvananthapuram judicial first class magistrate 3 court ordered the registration of the case on a complaint filed by Civil Rights and Social Justice Society secretary R Jayachandran.
The complaint said that the names of the victims in the Delhi Nirbhaya case, Kilirur-Kaviyoor cases and Govindachamy rape case, among others, were mentioned by Sreelekha on her YouTube channel. Thiruvananthapuram Museum Police registered the FIR following the court order.Jayachandran had approached the Thiruvananthapuram Museum Police with a complaint seeking to register a case against Sreelekha. However, no FIR was registered. Following this, the complainant approached the court. It was also alleged that police did not take action due to the strong influence of Sreelekha, who is a former DGP.
