Patna: Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) will introduce dedicated registration and medicine distribution counters for senior citizens, with the facilities scheduled to be inaugurated on Aug 15.Hospital superintendent Dr Rajiva Kumar Singh said the initiative aims to make hospital visits easier for elderly patients by providing priority access to registration, specialist consultations and medicines. The dedicated counters are expected to reduce waiting time and spare senior citizens from standing in long queues, ensuring faster access to medical services.PMCH already has a specialised Geriatric Department for the treatment of age-related ailments. Hospital officials said the new registration and pharmacy counters would complement the department’s services and help streamline patient care from registration to prescription fulfilment.General registration and pharmacy services for other patients will continue to function as usual. Officials said the move reflects the hospital’s efforts to strengthen patient-friendly facilities and improve healthcare services for the growing elderly population.
