CM Mohan Charan Majhi at Odisha Investors’ Meet in New Delhi on Saturday

Bhubaneswar: Odisha attracted investment proposals worth Rs 66,392 crore with the potential to generate 54,135 jobs during chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s two-day investment outreach in Delhi-NCR, which concluded on Saturday. The state signed 38 MoUs worth Rs 64,703 crore and secured additional investment intents of Rs 1,689 crore.The outreach, aimed at pitching Odisha as a manufacturing and investment destination, came a day after the state’s flagship Odisha Food Pro-2026 event. Over the last two days, the chief minister held 46 one-on-one meetings with investors and industry leaders and participated in 208 industry engagements across sectors.The investment proposals span engineering goods, textiles and apparel, aluminium downstream industries and ancillary manufacturing. Officials said the proposed investments, if materialised, could create 54,135 employment opportunities in the state.As part of the outreach, Majhi visited Haier’s manufacturing facility in Noida, where he reviewed production systems and interacted with company executives and engineers. The discussions focused on opportunities in electronics manufacturing, home appliances, supply chain development and ancillary industries in Odisha.The chief minister also participated in sector-specific roundtable discussions with industry representatives. Deliberations at the engineering goods manufacturing roundtable centred on industrial infrastructure, supply chain integration and ancillary unit development. Separate discussions with textile and apparel industry leaders explored export opportunities, skilled manpower requirements and employment generation, while another session focused on aluminium value addition, downstream manufacturing and expanding MSME participation.“Odisha is building an industrial environment where businesses can grow, jobs can be created and value addition can take place across sectors. Our objective is not merely to attract investment but also to strengthen local supply chains and create opportunities for the state’s youth,” Majhi said.Industries minister Sampad Chandra Swain said the response from industry reflected growing confidence in Odisha’s investment climate. “Our priority is to facilitate investors, strengthen sector-specific value chains and convert investment interest into projects on the ground,” he said.Concluding the outreach, Majhi said the commitments received over the two days were encouraging and would help accelerate Odisha’s industrial growth in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Purvodaya“ vision for eastern India. Officials said the Delhi-NCR programme has further strengthened Odisha’s efforts to attract investments and expand its industrial base.
